In the province of Luxembourg, Belgium, the small village of Sainte-Cécile en Semois invites you to have a marvellous stay in a traditional house transformed into a charming hotel. Behind its sturdy façade, HOTEL SAINTE-CECILE is an oasis of peace and calm that offers the warmest of welcomes.
Its small flower garden is crossed by a stream and makes an excellent spot for relaxing, as does the fireplace in the lounge. The decor in the 12 rooms and 2 suites wavers between classic and modern, but creates plenty of warmth. The rooms each have their own personality and are very comfortable with TV, telephone, and shower or bathtub.
There is also abundant charm in the restaurant at Hôtel Sainte-Cécile. The ever-present wood, tastefully chosen curios and lighting make the dining room an elegant room to savour cuisine that delights the palate as much as the eyes. When the weather is fine, meals may also be served near the water in the serenity of the garden.
The countryside that surrounds this distinctive hotel in Belgium is a scenic, unspoiled environment that can be discovered on walks or even rambles that may take you as far as the Tombeau du Chevalier. Guests should also visit the ancient slate mines in Bertrix; the Tombeau du Géant, a splendid natural site in Luxembourg province; or the Domaine des Epioux near Florenville, an immense forest that conceals a chateau. Finally, across the French border, but still near the hotel, Charleville-Mézières, the home town of poet Arthur Rimbaud, is worth a trip.
3 stars. Gourmet dining. Car park. Wifi
The restaurant will be closed on Mondays in July and August (except on bank holidays).
